Thanksgiving Cooking

Kaylee and I started cooking for our Thanksgiving Feast for 5! Kaylee made the infamous Oreo Cookies (its so nice that she is old enough to do it all on her own). I started on my homemade rolls. Then we went on to making the apple pie!! After a few failed attempt on trying to get the doe not to rip I finally got it!! You can see down below, not bad when you haven't made a pie in a couple of years. We lucked out on the Turkey this year. The owner of Bens company sent the executives a fully cooked smoked turkey, I could smell it right when he walked in the door. Hope all of your cooking is going well.

Kaylee loves to cook and she was such a big help.

Kaylee saw that I had handprints on my behind so she decided to add to it!!
Nice Kaylee!!

We are finally done!!!

Boys go Fishin'

Well they didn't catch anything but they still had fun. This is their first fishing trip since being here in Texas. They went to the Guadeloupe State Park. As you can see in one of the pictures we do get a little bit of color change. Its not Utah but it is beautiful at the park. They also saw a native here in Texas, a Armadillo!! Ok, what was Heavenly Father thinking on this one. It's a cross between a huge rat, raccoon and turtle with its hard shell. I couldn't imagine seeing it in person but the boys loved it. That's the first thing Carson told me not that he got a fish but he saw his first Armadillo!!
They had lots of fun.

Carson couldn't sleep the night before he was sooo excited!!
Carson totally in his element!
They are such buddies, Canyon wants to do everything Carson does!!
This is seriously the ugliest thing I have ever seen, Grandma Hansen will love this one!!!!
This is a beautiful park, this is what are Fall looks like.

Football 2009

What a season. Carson was plagued with injury and sickness and missed about a month due to staff infection, hyperextended knee, ear infection and swine flu!! He missed about a month of practice and games but gave it his all the last month. The only lost 2 games out of 10 but unfortunately didn't make it to the playoffs but overall a great season and he had wonderful coaches. Carson made his first touchdown this season and he's looking forward to basketball and baseball season. Basketball is less intense than football so it will be a nice change for him.

Coach Ford presenting Carson his medal and saying some wonderful words about him.
Carson really loved his Coach's, and Ben was able to help out this season and Carson loved having his Dad there.
Game Face!!!
Carson paying attention to his Coach!!

It's Fall!!

I love this time of year in Texas. Its just beautiful weather and I love the nip in the air. We are learning that you can't carve pumpkins until the day before Halloween because they get moldy so quickly. We can't show you what the kids carved because we did it to early. I felt so bad, they worked so hard on them!! They would of looked great. Live and learn right!! Also are camera decided not to work on Halloween night so my neighbor took some pics of the kids in there costumes but I haven't got them from her yet. So when you see Halloween pics at Christmas time you'll no why. At least the carmel apples turned out...mmmmm delicious!!!

They were ready to get messy!!

Daddy loves to carve pumpkins with the kids!!

Gotta love carmel apples....and yes we still do it the way we Hansen's were raised, opening the carmel one by one!
