Meet the new member of our family, his name is Bentley. He is a pure bred Beagle and he is 12 weeks old. Ben and I got him for the kids for Christmas. Ben drove almost 3 hours away to pick him up at the breeders on Christmas Eve. When Ben got home I had the kids go on a treasure hunt and this was the treasure and Bentley is a very sweet and mild mannered. He hasn't whined at all and has slept through the night. He is an outside dog but has a very warm and comfortable bed and dog igloo. The kids were beyond excited and he has taken many naps because the kids have exhausted him. It's been really fun. Then we had the Traditional Hansen Christmas Eve and had a candle lit dinner and followed that with our Christmas program. We skyped with Cory and my parents in Ohio for the program and it was very fun. What a Christmas Eve, love making memories.

So I was trying to not go crazy because my kids have been out of school since the 18th!!! I know!! So I met up with my friend/hairdresser and her kids and we went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks on the 23rd. This is the first time Canyon has gone and seen a movie at the theater. He did really well, but I learned very quickly that if he doesn't run out of popcorn he sits the whole time. I think many moms had the same idea because the theater was packed but it was really fun.

See all the popcorn!!! He had fun

Ben had a great idea for family Home Evening, decorate a Gingerbread House. It was so fun, but the kids had to practice with the icing, it was a little difficult but they got a hang of it. Canyon had more fun eating the candy decorations than actually decorating. He did manage to finish a Christmas Tree though. It was a lot of fun.

I love this time of year and I love christmas music but most of all I love my Savior. Im so grateful for his birth and his perfect example. Most importantly his sacrifice for all who would live. I thought I would post pics of us decorating. Ben did a wonderful job on the lights on the house. He always does a great job.

Growing up, many times on Thanksgiving Day we would go bowling, so I thought why not start it with my family. This is Canyon's first time bowling and he loved it. Enjoy!!

Thanksgiving Cooking

Kaylee and I started cooking for our Thanksgiving Feast for 5! Kaylee made the infamous Oreo Cookies (its so nice that she is old enough to do it all on her own). I started on my homemade rolls. Then we went on to making the apple pie!! After a few failed attempt on trying to get the doe not to rip I finally got it!! You can see down below, not bad when you haven't made a pie in a couple of years. We lucked out on the Turkey this year. The owner of Bens company sent the executives a fully cooked smoked turkey, I could smell it right when he walked in the door. Hope all of your cooking is going well.

Kaylee loves to cook and she was such a big help.

Kaylee saw that I had handprints on my behind so she decided to add to it!!
Nice Kaylee!!

We are finally done!!!

Not Bad!!

Boys go Fishin'

Well they didn't catch anything but they still had fun. This is their first fishing trip since being here in Texas. They went to the Guadeloupe State Park. As you can see in one of the pictures we do get a little bit of color change. Its not Utah but it is beautiful at the park. They also saw a native here in Texas, a Armadillo!! Ok, what was Heavenly Father thinking on this one. It's a cross between a huge rat, raccoon and turtle with its hard shell. I couldn't imagine seeing it in person but the boys loved it. That's the first thing Carson told me not that he got a fish but he saw his first Armadillo!!
They had lots of fun.

Carson couldn't sleep the night before he was sooo excited!!
Carson totally in his element!
They are such buddies, Canyon wants to do everything Carson does!!
This is seriously the ugliest thing I have ever seen, Grandma Hansen will love this one!!!!
This is a beautiful park, this is what are Fall looks like.
